Henry Ellis-Paul is a multi-disciplined designer whose career began in product design in London but quickly shifted sideways in to spatial design and more specifically retail design. For the past several years he has been working for a leading graphic design agency within their environments team. Henry’s love for 3-dimensional design has lead him to create this series of architectural illustrations depicting buildings within Sydney’s suburbs.

This debut range of illustrations, named Community Icons, by British born designer Henry Ellis-Paul focuses on the architectural landmarks within Sydney suburbs. Sydney is internationally renowned for its famous landmarks however Henry wanted to shine a light on the less well known buildings that are away from the crowds of tourists and sit hidden amongst the streets and parks of the city. The chosen buildings were picked for their striking features, within the architecture or the artwork which the bricks and mortar play canvas to. Each of the buildings has a sentiment which pay homage to various cultures, societies and organisations within the city. This mini collection of artworks aim to remind the viewer the importance of recognising the history and the subsequent tastes of yesteryear that are succinctly documented within the landscapes of our cities.
